Tim graduated in 1999 with an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). Since then, he has held academic roles at three universities, primarily focused on graphic-based courses. He served as Course Leader for BA (Hons) Graphic & Media Design and Acting Programme Director for the Graphic Communication Programme at London College of Communication (UAL). More recently, Tim was Director of Undergraduate Programmes and Head of the Design Department at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, a member of the Russell Group, where he co-launched the Data Imagine Lab as part of his research initiatives.

Currently, Tim is the Director of the School for Arts and Communication at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). Throughout his career, he has delivered workshops and lectures both nationally and internationally. Alongside his academic career, Tim has continued to work with clients and pursue personal design projects. As a designer, he has freelanced extensively and worked for renowned graphic design agencies and publishing houses in London.

Tim has collaborated on projects with a wide range of high-profile clients, including Universal Music, Warner Music, Wella, Momentum Pictures, MTV, L’Oréal, and Harrods. He shared a studio in Central London (W1) from 2002 to 2007 but has since transitioned to full-time academia. In his current role, he is the academic point of contact for international students and regularly visits overseas universities to deliver lectures, workshops, staff development, and student interviews. He is dedicated to expanding AUB's portfolio of global university partnerships.
